The best gym in Dallas depends on your budget, your hours and which side of town you live on. For the lowest verified monthly price, Crunch Fitness Central Forest starts at $9.99 a month with an annual commitment. For three city-centre clubs on one card, Trophy Fitness covers Uptown, Downtown and Mockingbird for $109 a month. For a premium club, Life Time Dallas – Highland Park starts at $279. For 24/7 entry, PARADIGM Gym in Lakewood is the one we could verify. The Moody Family YMCA has the only lap pool on this list, and CrossFit Odyssey is the pick for coached classes and HYROX training.
How this list was made: The Fitness Falcon did not visit, tour or train at any of these gyms. This is a research-based guide. Every gym was checked on its official website and at least one independent listing between 12 and 18 October 2026. No gym paid to be included. Prices are exactly as each gym publishes them, and where a gym doesn't publish a price we say so. If you are weighing a national chain, our guide to US gym chain membership prices and fees compares the big names side by side.

- $30 one-day pass; 3-day trial mentioned
What it offers: A 24-hour boutique gym at 5815 Live Oak St in Lakewood, with a second location on Lemmon Ave that the gym brands "Highland Park". Members enter through an app rather than a key fob. The site lists weight training, group fitness and HIIT classes, an infrared sauna, eucalyptus towel service, executive shower rooms, STYKU 3D body scanning and personal training.
Published pricing (checked October 2026):
- Platinum Pro: $169 a month, no enrollment fee, month-to-month, two guest passes a month.

Best for: Night-shift workers and early-morning lifters who want round-the-clock entry plus spa-style extras. If you train at odd hours, our guide to what to eat before and after a workout helps you fuel a 5am or 11pm session properly.
Honest con: It's expensive for a 24/7 gym, and nobody is on staff outside staffed hours. A $30 one-day pass is published, and a 3-day trial is mentioned without terms.

CrossFit Odyssey: best for CrossFit and HYROX

- Day pass
- $30 day rate (experienced athletes); free fitness assessment
What it offers: A class-based gym at 4202 W Lovers Ln in Bluffview, with about seven coached CrossFit classes a day on weekdays, HYROX training, small-group strength and conditioning, personal training, online programming and a Sunday mobility session. New members get a free fitness assessment, and there's a free HYROX trial class. The gym uses the CrossFit name on its site; we couldn't check the official affiliate map, so we describe it as the gym describes itself.
Published pricing (checked October 2026): Unlimited CrossFit from $225 a month. HYROX from $195 a month. Small Group S&C from $100 a week. Online training $225 (three sessions a week) or $350 (six). A one-hour personal training session is $110. Punch cards exist but aren't priced online.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 5:30am–7:30pm; Friday 5:30am–6:30pm; Saturday 8am–noon; Sunday 9–11am. Training is class-based, so there is no open-gym 24/7.
Best for: People who want coaching and community rather than a self-guided floor, and HYROX racers who want sport-specific prep.
Honest con: At $225 a month for unlimited, it costs many times a budget gym, and you have to fit the class schedule. The $30 day rate is aimed at visiting athletes who already have CrossFit experience; beginners are steered to the free assessment instead.

What gym memberships cost in Dallas
Among the gyms we could verify, published monthly prices run from $9.99 (Crunch, with an annual commitment) to $279 (Life Time). The headline number is only part of the cost:
- Commitment terms. Crunch's cheapest rate needs a 12-month commitment; its no-commitment rate is $15.99. CrossFit Midtown-style 12-month contracts don't appear on this list, but always ask.
- Enrollment and annual fees. Crunch doesn't show them on its club page, Trophy doesn't list them, and Paradigm advertises no enrollment fee on its $169 plan.
- Notice periods. Life Time asks for 30 days' notice. Others don't publish their cancellation terms, so get them in writing.
- Resident-only offers. Trophy's 7-day trial and Crunch's free first day both need local ID. Visitors can pay $15 at Crunch, $20 at the Y, $30 at Paradigm or CrossFit Odyssey, or $40 at Diesel.
Planet Fitness, the usual answer to "cheapest gym," has several Dallas clubs, including one in East Dallas that an independent listing shows as 24 hours. Its website blocked our automated checks, so it isn't listed here. Our US gym chain price comparison covers Planet Fitness and its annual fee from the company's own filings.
How to choose a gym in Dallas
- Start with your schedule. Only PARADIGM on this list is open 24/7. Life Time opens earliest among the rest, at 4:30am on weekdays. Class gyms like CrossFit Odyssey only work if the class times fit your day.
- Pick a side of town. The picks here cover Uptown and CityPlace (Trophy, Diesel), the North Central Expressway corridor (Life Time, Crunch Central Forest), Lakewood (Paradigm), Bluffview (CrossFit Odyssey) and Preston Road (Moody Y). Dallas is spread out and most people drive, so a gym on your commute beats a better one across town. That's general advice, not a measured finding.
- Ask about parking. Trophy Uptown publishes free street and two-hour garage parking. Paradigm Lakewood and CrossFit Odyssey have private lots according to independent listings. Nobody else on this list publishes parking details.
- Price the whole first year. Add any enrollment or annual fee, taxes and add-ons to 12 months of dues before you compare. The Crunch and Trophy pages don't show every fee, so ask.
- Use the trial at the time you'd train. The Y's 3-day trial, Trophy's 7-day trial and Crunch's free day all let you see how busy the floor is at your hour. If you've been away a while, our guide to returning to the gym after a long break has a sensible first-month plan.
- Read the cancellation terms before you sign. Check the notice period and how you have to cancel. Texas law adds a few protections, below.
Texas gym contract basics
Texas regulates gym and health club contracts under the Health Spa Act, Chapter 702 of the Texas Occupations Code. The same rules apply in Dallas as in our Houston gym guide. The main points for members:
- Three-business-day cancellation. You can cancel a new contract for a full refund if you send written notice by midnight of the third business day after the contract date, by certified mail to the gym's home office, with proof of payment. The refund is due within 30 days (§702.307).
- Maximum term. A contract can't run longer than three years. If it's financed through a retail installment contract, payments can't run longer than five years (§702.303).
- Other cancellation rights. You may cancel and get a refund of unearned payments if the gym closes without providing another facility within 10 miles, moves more than 10 miles away, fails to provide the services it advertised, or if the member dies or becomes totally and permanently disabled (§702.308).
- Moving away isn't on the list. Texas doesn't give you a statutory right to cancel because you relocate. That depends on your contract.
Most of the gyms here sell month-to-month memberships with their own notice periods, which are separate from these statutory rights. Keep a copy of your contract and any cancellation letter. For federal rules and other states, see our guide to gym fees and how cancellation works.
This is general information, not legal advice. For a specific dispute, read your contract and contact the Texas Attorney General's consumer protection division or a lawyer.
How we chose these gyms
We built this list from desk research, not visits. We didn't tour, train at or get paid by any of these gyms, and none paid to be included. We started from local business listings and official chain locators. Each gym had to show it was operating in 2026 on its own website, with the same address and hours on at least one independent listing. We then picked a spread across budgets and training styles: a budget chain, a local mid-range chain, a premium club, a community Y, a 24/7 boutique, a CrossFit box and an independent gym. For each one we recorded what it publishes: address, hours, equipment and classes, membership and day-pass prices, and the fees that change the real monthly cost. Where a gym doesn't publish a price, we say so instead of guessing. We don't use star ratings or review counts. Details were checked on 12 October 2026 and the main prices re-checked on 18 October 2026.
Some well-known options are missing because we couldn't verify them. Planet Fitness and Starting Strength Dallas blocked our automated checks. Equinox Highland Park has an active independent listing, but its official club page couldn't be read. The T. Boone Pickens YMCA downtown is still listed on the Y's site, but an independent listing reported a planned closure, and we couldn't resolve the conflict. We'll add any of them once we can confirm details from official sources.
How we score these gyms
Each gym gets a score from 1 to 5 on five criteria, in half-point steps. The overall score is the average of the five, rounded to one decimal place. We score only what each gym publishes, as described in this guide. We did not visit, tour or train at any of these gyms, and no gym paid for its score.
When a gym doesn't publish its price, its value score is capped at 3.0, because you can't judge value without a price. A specialist gym can still score highly on facilities if its equipment is strong for what it does. These scores are a starting point for your shortlist. They are not a substitute for a trial visit at the time you'd actually train.
- Value: the price compared with what's included, after enrollment, annual and processing fees.
- Facilities: the equipment and amenities listed, such as platforms, pools, saunas, recovery areas and studios.
- Access: opening hours (24/7 scores highest), day passes or free trials, and the number of locations.
- Coaching: the range of classes, coaching and programming on offer.
- Transparency: whether prices, contract and cancellation terms, and hours are clearly published.
